This song is about moving on from past troubles. The past may have been something you liked, but life has changed, and its time to move on for the best, wheather you like it or not. Eventually you will be able to "face the day" again. All the struggles start to finally go away, so he thinks he's asleep. He doesn't want to wake up because it might go back to the way it was.
